چکیده

In this study, cuticular wax load, its chemical composition, and biosynthesis, was studied during development of wild type (WT) bilberry fruit natural glossy (GT) mutant. GT load comparable with WT fruits. both, the proportion triterpenoids decreased concomitant increasing proportions total aliphatic compounds. fruit, a higher in accompanied by lower fatty acids ketones compared to as well density crystalloid structures on berry surfaces. Our results suggest that phenotype could be caused absence rod-like associated reduction wax. Especially CER26-like, FAR2, CER3-like, LTP, MIXTA, BAS genes showed skin preferential expression patterns indicating their role biosynthesis secretion.

Flavonoid Biosynthesis in Bilberry (vaccinium Myrtillus L.)

Flavonoids are a class of secondary metabolites in plants that are involved in many important functions. Various flavonoid compounds have also been reported to be beneficial for human health. Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus L.) is the characteristic field layer species in boreal forests and the fruits of bilberry are rich in anthocyanin pigments, a subclass of flavonoids. In the present work, fla...

Comparative study of anthocyanin composition, antimicrobial and antioxidant activity in bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus L.) and blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) fruits.

Simultaneous comparison of bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus L.) and blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum L) fruits for their anthocyanin composition, antimicrobial and antioxidant activity is reported. The aim of this study was to investigate and to compare anthocyanin composition, antimicrobial and antioxidant activity in bilberry and blueberry fruits and their skins. The investigations revealed that ...

Antioxidant capacity and anthocyanin composition of Bulgarian bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus L.) fruits

Epidemiological studies have shown an inverse correlation of increased fruit and vegetable consumption with a reduced risk of chronic disorders including cardiovascular diseases. Plant‒derived foods contain a broad spectrum of secondary plant metabolites such as polyphenols that inhibit human low density lipoprotein oxidation, thus are made responsible for the beneficial effects on human health...

Antidiabetic and Antioxidant Properties of Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus Linn.) Fruit and Their Chemical Composition

Bilberry [Vaccinium myrtillus Linn. (Ericaceae)] fruit (VMF) has been traditionally used for treatment of bladder stones, biliary disorders, scurvy, coughs, and lung tuberculosis. VMF may have some pharmaceutical properties owing to these uses, but in vivo and in vitro studies are limited for clarification of medicinal activity and its antidiabetic and antioxidant properties are not investigate...
